San Pedro Fish Market Celebrates 70 Years on the Waterfront

05.26.26

San Pedro Fish Market is celebrating 70 years of seafood, family traditions and waterfront dining in Southern California.

Founded on Good Friday in 1956, the family-owned institution began as a small seafood stand called Vista Seafood, opened by Mackey Ungaro alongside his son Henry and nephew Tommy Amalfitano. What started as a neighborhood seafood spot quickly became a favorite gathering place for locals drawn to the fresh catch and welcoming hospitality.

Over the decades, San Pedro Fish Market grew alongside the harbor, eventually becoming one of the most recognized seafood destinations in Southern California. Today, the restaurant is led by its fourth generation of family ownership and remains known for bringing people together over large seafood platters, waterfront views and longtime traditions.

Its World Famous Shrimp Tray has earned national attention and helped place San Pedro Fish Market among the most Instagrammed restaurants in the country, attracting visitors from around the world to the San Pedro waterfront.

As the restaurant marks its 70th anniversary in 2026, San Pedro Fish Market is continuing to invest in its future while honoring its history. The company recently secured a 49-year lease at the upcoming West Harbor development in the Port of Los Angeles, ensuring its longtime presence on the waterfront for decades to come.

Throughout the year, San Pedro Fish Market will celebrate the milestone with special events and community programming. Guests are also invited to share favorite memories on social media by tagging @SanPedroFish and using #70thAnniversary for a chance to receive a limited-edition anniversary coin. Winners will receive line-skipping privileges at The Landing location in San Pedro for one year.

Azure Day Party Debuts Sundays at The Bungalow Huntington Beach

05.18.26

The Bungalow Huntington Beach is launching a new weekly daytime series with Azure Day Party beginning Memorial Day weekend on Sunday, May 24. The weekly Sunday residency will bring Azure’s signature mix of house music, elevated hospitality and high-energy daytime entertainment to the Huntington Beach coast from 2 to 9 p.m.

Founded in 2022, Azure Day Party started as a rooftop gathering in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, before growing into an international lifestyle brand with events across the United States and Europe. Known for its music-driven atmosphere and curated crowd, Azure will bring a rotating lineup of house music artists to The Bungalow, including Ookay, Sunday Scaries, Night Tales and other guest performers throughout the summer residency.

Set along Pacific Coast Highway, The Bungalow’s indoor-outdoor layout and coastal design make it a natural fit for the daytime series. Guests can expect DJs, cocktails, bottle service and a social atmosphere designed around music and hospitality. Organizers anticipate approximately 500 guests each Sunday following strong demand leading into opening weekend.

The residency is part of Bungalow Hospitality Group, founded by Brent Bolthouse, and reflects the continued growth of daytime entertainment culture in Southern California.

Azure Day Party takes place every Sunday beginning May 24 at The Bungalow Huntington Beach. The event is for guests 21 and older, with general admission tickets and table reservations available online. For more information, visit Azure Day Party SoCal.
